Privacy Notice
Last updated: 30 October 2026
At UN.LEAD, we believe trust begins with transparency. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
UN.LEAD is an initiative exploring the future of leadership through research, global surveys, conversations and engagement with leaders and emerging voices across business, academia, public life, sport and society.
1. Who we are
UN.LEAD is operated by Unlead Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Unlead Ltd is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Notice.
You can contact us at:
Unlead Ltd
Email: hello@unlead.org
Website: https://unlead.org
2. Information we may collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, organisation, role or professional background when you:
- contact us;
- express interest in an UN.LEAD conversation;
- nominate someone;
- join a mailing list;
- participate in research; or
- complete the UN.LEAD Global Survey.
Where you participate in a recorded UN.LEAD conversation, we may also process your biography, photograph, voice, video, interview recording, transcript and information you choose to share during that conversation.
Our research and surveys may collect opinions, experiences and demographic information where relevant to the research. We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for the stated purpose.
When you use our website, limited technical information may also be collected, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referral source and interaction with the site, depending on your cookie choices.
If someone nominates you or introduces you to UN.LEAD, we may receive information such as your name, professional role, organisation and contact details from that person or from publicly available professional sources.
Please do not provide sensitive personal information unless we specifically ask for it. Where a research project intentionally collects special-category information, we will explain why it is needed and identify an appropriate legal basis and condition before collecting it.
3. How and why we use information
Unlead Ltd may use personal information to:
- operate, administer and improve UN.LEAD;
- respond to enquiries;
- administer the UN.LEAD Global Survey and other research;
- analyse themes and trends relating to leadership;
- invite individuals to participate in conversations, research or events;
- organise, record and publish UN.LEAD conversations;
- manage nominations;
- maintain relationships with contributors, collaborators and partners;
- send updates where people have chosen to receive them;
- understand how our website and content are being used;
- protect the security and integrity of our systems; and
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
Depending on the activity, we may rely on consent, legitimate interests, steps necessary to enter into or perform an agreement with you, or a legal obligation.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating and developing UN.LEAD, conducting responsible research, engaging with relevant contributors, responding to enquiries, protecting our systems and understanding how the initiative is being used.
We consider whether those interests are proportionate and whether they could unfairly affect your rights.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
4. The UN.LEAD Global Survey and research
Participation in the UN.LEAD Global Survey is voluntary.
Survey responses may be analysed individually and collectively to identify patterns, differences between groups, emerging themes and perspectives on the future of leadership.
Our intention is to publish research primarily in aggregated or anonymised form.
We will not attribute a survey response, quotation or opinion to you by name without an appropriate legal basis to do so, such as your specific permission.
Where information has been genuinely anonymised so that an individual can no longer be identified, it is no longer personal data and may be retained and used for research, analysis and publication.
Some research may be conducted with universities, researchers or other partner organisations. If a particular project involves another organisation acting as a data controller or joint controller, we will provide relevant information before you participate.
5. Recorded UN.LEAD conversations
Participation in a recorded UN.LEAD conversation is separate from simply using this website.
Before recording or publishing a conversation, Unlead Ltd may agree additional participation or release terms with the guest covering the recording and use of their:
- name;
- image;
- voice;
- biography;
- video or audio recording;
- transcript;
- quotations; and
- excerpts from the conversation.
Published conversations may be distributed through the UN.LEAD website, social media, podcast platforms, video platforms, newsletters, events and other editorial or promotional channels.
6. Nominations
UN.LEAD allows people to nominate individuals whose perspectives they believe should be part of the conversation.
If you nominate someone, please provide only information that is relevant and appropriate to the nomination.
You should not provide sensitive or private information about another person without their permission.
Where we receive personal information about a nominee, we may use it to assess the nomination and, where appropriate, contact that person regarding UN.LEAD.
7. Email updates and communications
If you actively choose to receive UN.LEAD updates, Unlead Ltd may send you information about:
- new conversations;
- research and reports;
- surveys;

- related UN.LEAD initiatives.
Where consent is required, we will ask you to opt in.
